After more than 40 years in business, Knorr & Macho GmbH in Kirchheim unter Teck has been forced to cease trading due to insolvency. Production will continue until March 31, 2026, with final liquidation scheduled for April 30, 2026.
The closure is further evidence of the ongoing international competitive pressure. In particular, the manufacture of single-component moulded rubber parts can no longer be carried out at a profit under the current economic conditions in Germany. Today, such products are mainly manufactured in Asia or Eastern Europe.
What is unfortunately a profound change for the employees also poses major challenges for numerous existing customers: well-established supply chains, validated tools, and approved mixtures must be secured at short notice.
Protective shield for existing supply chains
In order to ensure the continuity of ongoing projects, the insolvency administrator and ZORGE owner Dino Zorge have agreed, in close consultation with customers, on a structured takeover of existing delivery orders – regardless of the respective volumes.
Customer tools are being relocated to ZORGE Rubber Solutions’ Hungarian production site, which specializes in the manufacture of single-component moulded rubber parts. The transfer is already in full swing. Existing series orders will be continued seamlessly in close consultation with customers.
